The temple has special importance for the Pranami community. District Panna records the belief that Mahamati Prannathji lived at the site for 11 years and later took samadhi inside one of the domes.
Architecture
The domes and lotus forms are described as a blend of Hindu and Muslim architectural styles. Shri Gummatji, a circular structure with nine marble domes, is a major feature.
